Pitt-Johnstown Student Residency Requirement
Students enrolling Fall Term 2022 and beyond.听
Recognizing that the value of the Pitt-Johnstown experience extends beyond the classroom and into the life of the University community and that research indicates that聽on-campus residency supports student persistence and success, the University requires all full-time first-year students to live in one of the on-campus residence halls for four consecutive semesters (fall/spring) and transfer students two consecutive semesters (fall/spring).听 聽
exemptions include:
- Students who will reside with parent(s) or legal guardian, within a commuting distance聽of 50 miles from Pitt-Johnstown.听
- Students over the age of 24.听
- Students who are married and/or students with children.
- Transfer students who have completed a total of 4聽regular semesters, including their prior聽college experience, or 60聽credits.听
- Students with qualifying medical conditions
To request a waiver of the residency requirement navigate to the Johnstown Campus Housing and Dining Services task center on .听 If your home address is within 50 miles of Pitt-Johnstown you do not need to submit an exemption request; you will automatically be exempt.听聽
