Reserving A Vehicle

The Pitt-Johnstown Conference Center helps to serve the campus by maintaining one minivanÌýthat is available for university use by our students, faculty, and staff.Ìý Additional vehicles, including 12-passenger vans, can be rented through Enterprise by using the Panther Express Travel Management program. The proceduresÌýfor renting vans are below.

Reserve a Vehicle

Please allow seven to ten business days before your departure.Ìý Cancellation policies should also be reviewed.

  • Campus mini-van reservations are made throughÌýthe Ìýunder the "Conference Center" menu.

  • 12-passenger vans must beÌýbooked online through Concur.
    • ​You will need a university travel card or your personal credit card (reimbursable upon return) and a valid driver’s license. Please remember the individual driving the rental vehicle must be the same person booking the vehicle and must also match the name on the credit card.
    • Rentals will be available for pick up at Enterprise, 737 Scalp Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15904.ÌýÌý
    • Enterprise is the University's preferred rental company. The ÈÕ±¾Ò»¼¶Æ¬â€™s agreement with Enterprise includes insurance so there is no need for the renter to purchase additional insurance. Rental insurance is not reimbursable.

Become an Approved University Driver

This isÌýnecessary for the rental of University vehicle. TheÌýfollowing items are required for submission.ÌýPlease complete theÌýforms and return them to the Conference Center.

A copy of your valid driver's license*

A copy of your Pitt ID card*

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý * Please adjustÌýsettings to grayscale for the copies or scans.

DMV Driver Release FormÌý(only complete sections C & E) - Information obtained from the DMV, including actions and violations, will be reviewed and may be used to disqualify individuals.

Ìý- This form must be read, signed, and turned in with your DMV Driver Release Form.

Planned driving route and passenger list - These items must be turned in prior to your trip.

Ìý- This information must be reviewedÌýbefore your trip.

Criteria for Becoming an Authorized Driver

The use of a University leased/owned vehicle, including utility vehicles, is confined strictly to operations that support the University. The guidelines presented are not exhaustive. Departments may develop more stringent policies that should be adhered to.

Minimum Requirements for an Authorized or Acceptable Driver

All applicants must meet the following criteria to become an authorized or acceptable driver:

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Possess a valid driver's license and University ID
  • Possess no more than two traffic violations within the past three years

Unacceptable Driver:

Applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria are deemed unacceptable drivers and will not be permitted to drive a University leased/owned vehicle, including utility vehicles, under any circumstances.

  • Not in possession of a valid driver's license or have had a license revoked or suspended
  • Found at fault for more than one accident within the past three years
  • Possesses three or more traffic violations within the past three years
  • Convicted within the last three years of driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault, or any other serious violation of any state criminal or traffic laws while operating a motor vehicle

If an applicantÌýmeets one or more of the above criteria, they will be deemed an unacceptable driver.Ìý
