He received his Ph.D. in structural engineering from the University of Manitoba in 2012. Before joining the 日本一级片, he was an Assistant Professor at Prince Sultan University in Riyadh and the American University of Al Khaimah in the UAE. Dr. Alshurafa is interested in developing new technology for designing and fabricating composite guyed structures, composite housings, and patentable construction tools. He has published many articles on developing guyed towers with advanced composite materials and glulam Tudor arches. Prior to joining UPJ in 2016, Dr. Parks worked for approximately 15 years in industry, including developing sustainable wastewater treatment and solid waste reuse technologies, serving on the Alcoa Foundation Board of Directors, and consulting for government agencies, municipalities, and industrial clients. In addition to her industry and academic experience, Dr. Parks served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa, supporting a local Non-Governmental Organization on water sanitation projects. Prior to joining Pitt-Johnstown in 2001, Dr. Murad was a visiting instructor at Bucknell聽University and had overseas teaching and professional experience. He worked as a technical manager at Modern Contracting in Morocco and as a highway project manager at Acer Freeman Fox聽International in Dubai. His teaching interests include transportation, highway design, and pavement聽design and management.
